About

Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me. Choosing the right therapist can feel daunting, but I hope this helps you get a sense of who I am and how I work.

I qualified as a counsellor 20 years ago, completing my Bachelor’s Degree in 2006 and becoming a Member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC) in 2008. Since then, I’ve gained a postgraduate diploma with a counselling focus, and I am currently studying towards a qualification in clinical supervision (2026).

Over this time, I’ve spent more than a decade in clinical practice, supporting clients through a wide range of challenges.

Since starting my private practice in 2020, I’ve met with hundreds of people — some for just a handful of sessions, others over several years. Each client brings their own circumstances, and I always feel privileged to be part of their lives, however briefly.

There are always ways we can make meaningful changes, even when the future feels bleak.

After twenty years in New Zealand, my family and I relocated to Surrey in 2024 to be closer to family. Alongside my private practice, I work as a psychological therapist for a not‑for‑profit charity supporting children in care.

I’m an Accredited Registrant with the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (MNCPS) and adhere to their Code of Ethics.

Born and raised in Sweden, I’ve lived and worked across several countries, including New Zealand, Australia, Norway and Papua New Guinea. I also hold a Master’s Degree (Distinction) in Development Studies and spent several years working in international development across New Zealand and the Pacific. These experiences have deepened my understanding of what it means to live away from one’s place of origin and to navigate cross‑cultural expectations.

I love connecting with people, learning about their challenges, abilities, hopes and constraints, and ultimately finding ways to support them to live the kind of life they aspire to. Seeing clients move forward feeling stronger and more at peace is what this profession is about for me.

I now live in Surrey with my husband and our two primary school aged children.

Experience

I have vast experience as a private counsellor providing individual therapy with a trauma informed lens, facilitating critical incident debriefings, group supervision, and developing and delivering training programmes for NZAC on the impact of trauma and treatment options.

Earlier counselling employment includes family counselling, withdrawal management counselling (detox), facilitating parenting courses, school counselling in the Pacific, and counselling women and children who have experienced family and/or sexual violence.

As a psychological therapist I support staff in reflective practice group settings, psychoeducation and direct engagement. I
